Data controller
To be completed: the publisher of Funary (see the legal notice). Contact: aide@funary.fr.
What we collect
Only what the file needs:
for your account: your email address, your first name and the language of the app;
for the file: the person who died, your answers to the questionnaire (in ranges, never an exact amount), the follow-up of the formalities, comments, shared expenses and the documents you add;
for letters: the information requested when preparing them, kept only if you choose to.
Funary never asks for or keeps the cause of death or any other health data.
Why
To provide the service you asked for, to keep your account secure, to meet our legal obligations (payments, invoicing), and, if you agree, to send you notifications.
Where and how
The data is hosted in France, by OVHcloud. Documents in the safe are encrypted. When you ask for a letter to be read, lines that look like medical information are removed on your phone before the analysis, by a service hosted in France. Notifications have a general text, with no personal information. The list of providers is on the Subprocessors page.
Funary includes no advertising and no advertising trackers. Data is never sold or shared for commercial purposes. Website audience measurement is anonymous and uses no cookies.
How long
A file is kept as long as it is used. Three years after it is closed, or after its last activity if it is still open, and then every three years, its organiser is asked to confirm that they want to keep it; without a reply within three months, the members are told, an export is offered to them, and the file is then deleted. A deleted file is permanently deleted after 30 days. Sign-in codes are erased the day after they expire, and a device that has not been used for a year is signed out.
Your rights
From the app, you can view, correct, export and erase your data. You can also write to aide@funary.fr, and lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
